A family who lives and works on Etna always, this is the way we like to describe ourselves. The Azienda Agricola Filippo Grasso is a small reality, six hectares of land nestled between the Etna Volcano and Nebrodi mountains in the abundant Contrada Calderara, located on the North side of Etna. We are 4th generation winemakers, passionate and in love with our volcano and the wine that we produce from the territory we live on. We cultivate only indigenous grapes; nerello mascalese and nerello mantellato for red and rosè wines; carricante, catarratto and minnella bianca for white wines.
We are at 650 meters above sea level and our soil is made up black volcanic rocks that give the wine a unique minerality and sapid finish on the palate. Our wines are simple and straight forward and we do our best to deliver “the Etna volcano experience” to you in each sip.
One hundred olive trees that are mostly dated over a century in age coexist with our vineyards allowing us to also produce extra virgin olive oil. We work every day to carry on our tradition: Etna is in our dna, Etna in our heart and Etna is our glass!
